“Man is free at the moment he wishes to be.” – Voltaire

My name is Hanan Jiyad, a female British-Iraqi living in London. On this blog, I write about literature and political, social, cultural and religious issues. All writing and views are my own.

I believe in knowledge there is freedom beyond limitations. I am not writing for fame or wealth. I am writing to change the world for the better and to influence the next generation to create a world built on justice, truth and equality. This blog is called The Trivialist because it is a powerful and ironic statement. A trivialist is somebody who is concerned with meaningless matters yet everything I write about is important to us all.

My message to you, the reader, is to always believe that you can change the world no matter how small you may seem. You must always believe in the goodness of people, but most importantly, you must always believe in yourself. Work hard and dream big, the world is at your fingertips.

I am The Trivialist and this is my revolution.
